Dr Al-Moktar graduated from Baghdad Medical School in 1989, achieved his fellowship in internal medicine in 1999 from Baghdad University (FICMS). In Australia, Dr Al-Moktar has completed training in Internal Medicine and then advanced training in Nephrology (Victoria and New South Wales). In 2014, Dr Al-Moktar was granted FRACP.
His research has involved studying patients with acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease in hospitals.
He is interested in reviewing all patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, Hypertension, Haematuria, proteinuria, cystic kidney disease and general medicine linked to kidney disease including diabetes.
Dr Al-Moktar is also fluent in Arabic.
