Ramsay Health Care was founded in 1964 by Paul Ramsay and has grown to become the largest provider of private hospital services in Australia.
Northern Private Hospital commenced development in 2022 and opened its doors to patients on 5 February 2024. It is co-located with Northern Hospital Epping; the facilities are joined by a link bridge to allow the easy transfer of patients between sites.
The hospital will continue to evolve in the future to grow and meet the heath care requirements of the expanding community. Initially, the Northern Private Hospital will have 70 inpatient overnight beds of which four bed High Dependency Unit (HDU) and six bed Coronary Care (CCU). There is four operating theatres (incl. one hybrid), one cardiac catheter lab, sleep study unit, ten chair day chemotherapy unit and one treatment room, Pathology, Pharmacy, Medical Imaging and Consulting suites.
