Jae was born and educated in Adelaide, completing his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide in 2011 followed by internship and resident surgical training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital respectively. He was then accepted onto the Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon Scientist training program under the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons with funding and support from the Garnett Passe and Rodney Williams Foundation with an Academic Surgeon-Scientist Research Scholarship.
He then went on to complete a Doctor of Philosophy titled “The Mucosal Barrier in Chronic Rhinosinusitis” under the supervision of Professor Peter-John Wormald and Professor Alkis Psaltis. This examined the effects of exogenous bacterial products and zinc on the integrity of the mucosal barrier function in sinusitis and nasal polyps, and this was awarded a Dean’s commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence. Jae then completed his Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery training in Melbourne, Victoria. Following this he also had further training in Head and Neck Cancer Surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Queensland.
Jae treats a wide range of adult and paediatric ENT conditions, with interests in head and neck cancer, thyroid surgery, sinusitis and nasal surgery, voice issues, snoring, paediatric tonsillitis and ear infections.
Jae has public hospital appointments at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Austin Health, Eastern Health, and Northern Health. He consults privately in North Fitzroy, Box Hill, Brighton, and Mildura, and operates at the Northern Private Hospital Epping and Warringal Private Hospital.
