Siobhan completed her medical degree in London along with a Bachelor of Medical Science in Cardiovascular Pharmacology. This was followed by extensive training in general surgery and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery.
She holds dual Fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS), along with a PhD from Imperial College London, focusing on the molecular biology of bile duct cancer.
In the UK she was an Academic Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham and held the prestigious position of Associate Surgical Specialty Lead for Pancreatic Cancer for the Royal College of Surgeons, coordinating national pancreatic cancer research studies. She is an active researcher as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne, and holds a Diploma of Education for Health Professionals from the University of Birmingham.
