Jae was born and educated in Adelaide, completing his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide in 2011 followed by internship and resident surgical training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital respectively. He was then accepted onto the Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon Scientist training program under the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons with funding and support from the Garnett Passe and Rodney Williams Foundation with an Academic Surgeon-Scientist Research Scholarship.
He then went on to complete a Doctor of Philosophy titled “The Mucosal Barrier in Chronic Rhinosinusitis” under the supervision of Professor Peter-John Wormald and Professor Alkis Psaltis. This examined the effects of exogenous bacterial products and zinc on the integrity of the mucosal barrier function in sinusitis and nasal polyps, and this was awarded a Dean’s commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence. Jae then completed his Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery training in Melbourne, Victoria. Following this he also had further training in Head and Neck Cancer Surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Queensland.
Jae treats a wide range of adult and paediatric ENT conditions, with interests in head and neck cancer, thyroid surgery, sinusitis and nasal surgery, voice issues, snoring, paediatric tonsillitis and ear infections.
Jae has public hospital appointments at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Austin Health, Eastern Health, and Northern Health. He consults privately in North Fitzroy, Box Hill, Brighton, and Mildura, and operates at the Northern Private Hospital Epping and Warringal Private Hospital.
Dr. Radha Nair is a General Surgeon based in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. His clinical interests include breast, thyroid, colorectal, hernia, gallbladder disease, skin cancers, hand surgeries, and endoscopy. Dr Nair is dedicated to delivering quality, patient-centered care across these specialties. Dr. Nair has extensive experience in leadership roles within both academic and surgical contexts, having worked in rural and regional areas across Australia and New Zealand. Dr. Binh T Nguyen is a general surgeon who has an interest in breast and thyroid disease. Dr Nguyen trained in Melbourne, Australia and he completed his medical degree through The University of Melbourne. Having completed his MBBS through Melbourne University, he then went on to do his residency and surgical registrar training through various hospitals within Victoria, the Northern Territory and Tasmania.
Dr. Binh T Nguyen is involved in teaching and training both in private and public hospitals. Dr Nguyen’s clinic is strategically located in Preston which is the corridor between Melbourne City and the Northern suburbs.
Graduating from The University of Melbourne, Wei Ming attained fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeon (RACS) through Austin Health.
He then pursued sub-specialty training in breast and endocrine surgery via BreastSurgANZ at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. This has provided the opportunity to enhance his skills in advanced breast oncoplastic techniques & reconstructive surgery as well as complex endocrine conditions.

Dr Parthasarathy completed her medical degree at Monash University, graduating with first class honours in 2009. She was the dux of her clinical school, winning the Monash Health Board of Management Prize as well as other awards during her undergraduate training.
Dr Parthasarathy completed her basic physician training at Monash Health before undertaking advanced training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Austin Hospital, Northern Hospital and Box Hill Hospital. During this time, she was exposed to a wide spectrum of gastroenterological conditions and endoscopic procedures. She went on to complete a fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Box Hill Hospital, gaining further expertise in the management of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Dr Parthasarathy welcomes referrals in all aspects of gastroenterology including inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, coeliac disease, fatty liver, iron deficiency anaemia, gastrointestinal bleeding, polyp surveillance and bowel cancer screening. Dr Pianta is a Nephrologist by training, He obtained his PhD examining diagnostic tests for acute kidney injury (AKI) and delayed graft function (DGF) leading and collaborating in clinical and animal studies. He has also conducted collaborative clinical research examining systemic complications of chronic kidney disease (CKD) including myocardial ischaemia and neurological disease including RCTs and observational studies. These nationwide collaborations continue.
Dr Pianta teaches the MD course at Northern Clinical School University of Melbourne as a Senior Lecturer and clinical skills coach. He also supervises, teaches, and examines (RACP) physician trainees, nursing and allied health colleagues, and other doctors-in-training.
Timothy is a consultant physician (in Nephrology, General Medicine and Obstetric Medicine) at Northern Health. He has established a follow-up clinic for Acute Kidney Injury with research embedded into the structure. He aims to also continue to develop and implement the CKD Supportive Care Pathway for patients with advanced CKD.
Dr Larry Ponnuthurai is the Deputy Director of Cardiology at Northern Hospital and leads the Interventional Unit and Coronary Care Unit.
He completed his specialist cardiology training at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, followed by fellowships in echocardiography at Monash Medical Centre and The Austin Hospital, and interventional cardiology at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
His clinical expertise includes interventional cardiology (angioplasty and stenting for coronary artery disease), cardiac imaging (transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography), heart failure management, and cardiac risk assessment (stress tests and CT coronary angiography).
Dr Ponnuthurai practices in both public and private sectors, consulting at Northern Private Hospital. He performs coronary angiography and stenting using femoral and radial artery access, incorporating advanced imaging techniques such as IVUS, OCT, and FFR.
He is involved in the education of cardiology trainees and medical students and has participated in developing outpatient care guidelines for the Department of Health & Human Services.
Dr Ponnuthurai performs cardiological procedures using established clinical protocols and techniques. He provides consultations that include taking patient history and addressing symptoms and concerns as part of the clinical assessment.

Northern Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Kaushikkumar (Kaushik) Prajapati, a general physician. Kaushik has a Fellowship of RACP (Royal Australasian College of Physicians) in internal medicine and has a Master of Perioperative Medicine from Monash University.
He has a specific interest in chronic kidney disease, perioperative medicine, and its related issues. He prides himself on being a highly professional doctor with over 10 years’ experience in various medical departments. Whilst working in India, he was exposed to a wide range of patients. In addition to this, Kaushik also has worked in central Australia with Indigenous communities which helped him to gain a better understanding of his patient’s culture and their background in the context of illness and treatment. Also, after having worked for four years in North Queensland, he can apply his knowledge of tropical medicine along with general medicine to appropriate patient cohorts in critical situations. Initially as an advanced trainee and then as a general medicine physician, he has worked with various metropolitan hospitals including Eastern health, Austin health and Northern health.
Kaushik has experience in successfully managing patients with complex co-morbidities, through his high level of care which allows him to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients.
