Orthopaedic Surgery
Dr Joanna Lenaghan is a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, subspecialising in Foot and Ankle Surgery. She holds dual public appointments, at Maroondah and the Northern Hospitals. Dr Lenaghan treats all patients with care and consideration, as well as technical excellence and knowledge from over ten years of clinical experience. After graduating from Medicine at The University of Melbourne in 1999, she pursued academic interests alongside her clinic work, being awarded a Masters of Surgery by Research from University of Melbourne in 2005, as well as her Diploma of Surgical Anatomy from Melbourne University Private in 2004. Dr Joanna Lenaghan achieved her Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery through the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2011. Throughout her training she has had roles working at hospitals across Melbourne, regional Victoria, Tasmania, Portland USA and Nairobi, Kenya. Her interest in education and teaching has continued with roles as Anatomy Tutor at University of Melbourne, Senior Lecturer Monash and Deakin Universities and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Melbourne. She is an Orthopaedic trainee supervisor at both Maroondah Hospital and The Northern Hospital. Dr Joanna Lenaghan spent the last ten years committed to her work in Foot and Ankle Surgery, regularly attending conferences, workshops and collaborating with colleagues to offer patients the highest level of care. She has an interest in arthroscopic and minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery, forefoot reconstruction, trauma and sports injuries, foot deformity and reconstruction. Dr Joanna Lenaghan is a second-generation Orthopaedic Surgeon and is one of five Lenaghan surgeons.

Dr John Ramzy is a general cardiologist with a clinical interest in interventional cardiology including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and adult congenital heart disease. After graduating from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medical Science, John trained in five of Melbourne’s leading cardiology units including St. Vincent’s Hospital, The University Hospital Geelong, Box Hill Hospital, The Alfred Hospital and Royal Melbourne Hospital. Through this broad experience he has a wide skill set including management of valvular heart disease, advanced heart failure, arrhythmias and complex coronary artery disease.

Dr Joshua Butt is a gastroenterologist with an interest in interventional endoscopy and a passion for providing the highest quality, individualised care to his patients. He has a broad range of general gastroenterological interests as well as additional interventional endoscopy expertise. He is proficient at diagnosing and treating multiple gastroenterological conditions including those of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, liver and bile ducts.

Mr Mark Baldwin is a fully qualified Plastic Surgeon who graduated at the top of his clinical school in 1992. He went on to undergo 9 years of training in Melbourne and Brisbane before commencing specialist practice in 2002. Since then he has worked full time in both the public and private settings, performing many thousands of operations. He is proud of the standard to which he practices and the many satisfied patients he has helped in his career to date.

Dr Medhat Ilias is a well-known provider of treatment for women with various gynaecological conditions. He has extensive experience in all aspects of general gynaecology and has gained additional experience in urogynaecology and endoscopic surgery.

Dr Al-Moktar graduated from Baghdad Medical School in 1989, achieved his fellowship in internal medicine in 1999 from Baghdad University (FICMS). In Australia, Dr Al-Moktar has completed training in Internal Medicine and then advanced training in Nephrology (Victoria and New South Wales). In 2014, Dr Al-Moktar was granted FRACP. His research has involved studying patients with acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease in hospitals. He is interested in reviewing all patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, Hypertension, Haematuria, proteinuria, cystic kidney disease and general medicine linked to kidney disease including diabetes.

Dr Mueed Mian completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne and underwent his training in rheumatology and general medicine at Austin Hospital, Northern Hospital and The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Dr Sharma completed his cardiology training at the Northern Hospital. He then under took a one year fellowship in intervention cardiology followed by a second fellowship in cardiac imaging at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. Dr Sharma has extensive experience in cardiology including general cardiology, valvular heart disease and all aspects of echocardiography (trans thoracic, transoesophageal, 3D/4 D, contrast and stress echocardiography). He has an interest in heart failure. Dr Sharma currently holds a public appointment at the Northern Hospital consulting in heart failure and imaging (echo). His academic interest includes the supervision and training of advanced trainees in cardiology. Dr Sharma has also participated in research at the Northern Hospital and is a co-investigator in multinational trials.
